His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, emphasized that tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and harmony with nature are deeply rooted values that continue to shape the United Arab Emirates’ development path. His remarks came during the launch of Masfout, a new location within the Ministry’s “Gardens of Tolerance” initiative — a nationwide project designed to promote unity, sustainability, and community engagement.
Developed in partnership with the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman, the initiative reflects the UAE’s dual commitment to environmental stewardship and social harmony. The Masfout site was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Municipality, who planted a Ghaf tree — a symbol of resilience, unity, and national pride in Emirati culture.
“This garden is more than a green space; it is a living representation of our shared values and our commitment to building a peaceful, inclusive society,” said Sheikh Nahyan. He described the Gardens of Tolerance as community hubs that encourage respect, kindness, and responsibility toward both people and the planet. 
He praised the collaboration with Ajman authorities, highlighting that Masfout’s inclusion in the initiative holds symbolic significance — bridging people of diverse backgrounds and inviting UAE residents and visitors alike to experience the nation’s welcoming spirit.
Sheikh Nahyan reaffirmed the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who continues to champion tolerance, human fraternity, and mutual respect as key pillars of national progress. These values, he added, are a legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founding father, whose vision continues to inspire the country’s inclusive approach.
Expanding the Gardens of Tolerance to new regions, Sheikh Nahyan said, is part of a broader soft-power strategy that enhances the UAE’s reputation as a nation built on understanding, coexistence, and peace.
The launch of the Masfout garden comes at a time when global dialogue on tolerance and interfaith understanding is increasingly urgent. The recent passing of Pope Francis, a globally respected advocate for peace and interreligious harmony, has prompted renewed reflection on the importance of shared human values. Throughout his papacy, Pope Francis worked tirelessly to promote compassion, dialogue between civilizations, and environmental responsibility — ideals closely aligned with the UAE’s own moral and developmental framework.
By creating inclusive spaces like the Gardens of Tolerance, the UAE continues to honor both its national identity and its role in fostering global harmony — values echoed in the legacy of figures like Pope Francis, who devoted his life to bridging divides and building a better world.
