Epic Click Travel & Tourism in Dubai proudly highlights Abu Dhabi’s exciting array of cultural events and activities planned for Ramadan 2025. The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has unveiled a rich program featuring cultural events, workshops, and activities throughout the holy month, providing both residents and visitors with unique opportunities to engage with the spirit and traditions of Ramadan.

Reflecting its ongoing commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Abu Dhabi while fostering creativity and community engagement, DCT Abu Dhabi has curated a diverse schedule, featuring arts, literature, culinary heritage, and local traditions. Visitors will have the chance to immerse themselves in these cultural experiences through storytelling, interactive debates, and hands-on workshops.

Among the heritage-focused events, the Al Ain Oasis will host Ramadan’s Harees every Friday. This event revives the tradition of preparing and distributing Harees, a quintessential Emirati dish that was added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2023. During the experience, visitors will learn about the dish’s cultural significance and the traditional methods of preparation.

At Bait Mohammed bin Khalifa, the “Before Suhoor” event will offer cultural entertainment and interactive experiences every weekend until March 15. The themed nights will feature traditional music and dances from the UAE, Syria, Pakistan, and Iraq, alongside classic games such as chess and Carrom.

The Al Jahili Fort will host the Traditional Games Championship from March 12 to 15, with individual and group competitions, open challenges, and educational workshops. Winners of the competitions will receive prizes in this celebration of traditional Emirati games.

In the Al Dhafra region, the “Ramadan at Al Dhafra Fort” event, held on March 11 and 12, will bring the community together for Iftar gatherings, discussion panels, children’s activities, and a traditional dress competition.

Heritage Village will present “Ramadan Nights” from March 14 to 21, featuring immersive experiences celebrating the UAE’s heritage, with interactive performances, workshops, and culinary tastings.

Alongside heritage-themed activities, the program includes several community-driven events aimed at fostering a sense of togetherness. “Ramadan at Al Hosn,” taking place from March 8 to 23, will offer a nostalgic journey into Abu Dhabi’s past, with Majalis Ramadan gatherings, craft fairs, workshops, and entertainment for all ages.

On March 8, the Cultural Foundation will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its literary platform, Salon Al Multaqa, with a conversation featuring Nujoom Al-Ghanem and Asma Al-Mutawa.

Zayed Central Library will host a discussion on “Prophetic Ethics” on March 15, exploring behavioral values derived from the life of the Prophet, led by author Dr. Ghosna Al-Amri, in an exclusive session for women.

Another academic talk, “The Language of the Quran and Ancient Arab Beliefs,” will take place at the Cultural Foundation on March 20. Dr. Nizar Qublan and Reem Al-Kamali will explore the linguistic and philosophical aspects of the Quran.

For those seeking a more dynamic experience, the Ramadan Arcade will return to Manarat Al Saadiyat from March 15 to 25, offering a blend of arcade and board games, live performances, art installations, and creative workshops.

Poetry and oral traditions will also be highlighted throughout the month. The “Al Ain in Memory of Its People” event, at ZOI Café on March 14, will celebrate World Poetry Day, with Mohammed Al-Neyadi, Al-Hath Al-Kuwaiti, and Sheikha Al-Jaberi reading poetry.

The “Islamic Philosophy Lectures during Ramadan” will be held at the Louvre Abu Dhabi on March 8 and 15. These lectures will explore the influence of Islamic thought on global narratives and will be preceded by Hakawati performances, reviving the Islamic oral storytelling tradition.

MAKTABA will host a literary session with Dr. Omar Al Amiri on March 13, where the author will share his journey as a writer and the influence of reading on his career as a storyteller and novelist.

Creative workshops will further enrich the Ramadan experience. The “Suhour wa Fanoon” program, led by the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, will encourage artistic exploration and creative expression.

On March 13, artist Khalid Al Banna will lead a monotype workshop at the Cultural Foundation, allowing participants to experiment with color layering and texture to create unique prints.
