As part of Isola Edipo at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, acclaimed director Anatoly Balchev will present his film “Vysotsky. Unknown… a True Story” as a special event screening.

Drawing on previously unseen footage and exclusive testimonies, the film uncovers untold chapters in the life of Vladimir Vysotsky — the Rebel Poet, Bard, and Artist whose influence extended far beyond Russia to France, the United States, Canada, Italy, and Mexico during the 1960s and 70s. His creative work in theater, cinema, and poetry was born of struggle and defiance, and his legacy continues to inspire debate and admiration to this day.

The screening will take place in the presence of director Anatoly Balchev, offering audiences a rare cultural moment to connect with the enduring voice and image of Vysotsky across generations.
