At the Jubilee celebrations in Rome, Pope Leo delivered an impassioned address emphasizing solidarity with young people caught in conflict zones, declaring: “We are with the youth of Gaza and Ukraine.”
Speaking before tens of thousands gathered at St. Peter’s Square, the Pontiff called for compassion and renewed efforts toward peace. He praised the resilience of young people living through war, describing them as symbols of hope in the face of suffering.
“To the young of Gaza and Ukraine, know that you are not forgotten,” Pope Leo said. “The Church stands beside you, prays for you, and urges the world to pursue peace so that you may inherit a future free of fear and violence.”
The Pope also urged global leaders to prioritize humanitarian aid, education, and dialogue in regions devastated by conflict, highlighting the moral duty to protect innocent lives and support those striving to rebuild amid turmoil.
The Jubilee’s theme of renewal and mercy resonated strongly as Pope Leo concluded his address:
“In these dark times, our hearts must remain open. We walk with the suffering, especially the youth who dream of peace. Together, let us be builders of that peace.”
The message was met with prolonged applause and reflected the Vatican’s growing focus on youth advocacy and global reconciliation.
