UK water regulator has imposed a combined $117 million fine on Anglian Water and South West Water for breaches of regulatory standards. The penalties follow investigations that revealed failures in service delivery, infrastructure maintenance, and environmental compliance.
Of the total, Anglian Water faces the larger share of the fine, while South West Water is also required to improve its operations and implement stricter monitoring to prevent future breaches.
The regulator emphasized that the fines are part of a broader effort to hold utility companies accountable and ensure consumers receive reliable and safe water services. Both companies have acknowledged the rulings and pledged to take corrective measures.
